Meet Mirriam Kunda
Mirriam Kunda is ten years old and the second born in a family of five. She lives in Kanyama township, west of Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia.

Mirriam is a double Orphan Child, meaning both her parents passed away. She experienced this tragedy when she was seven years old. Her parents were diagnosed with AIDs, they both suffered from this disease for a long time. Her mother died first and a year later her Father died as well leaving Mirriam and her siblings as double orphans. The children were left in the hands of some family relatives who took custody of them. The children had to be separated among the family members. Unfortunately, Mirriam was taken by her Aunt who is abusive towards Mirriam.

In her current home Mirriam undergoes some form of different abuse. She has been denied her right to education, while other Children from the same home have the chance to go school. She is told to stay home and do house chores, while her friends are in school learning. As for Mirriam attending school and being class is just a dream. She is given hard tasks that do not match with age. She is required to fetch water from the community tap which is quite a far distance from her home. She receives some emotional/verbal abuse from her aunt.
We met Mirriam in the street of Kanyama selling some merchandise. Mirriam is a prospective orphan of Christ Heart Transforming Ministries Orphan Center.

How To Support A Nonprofit Without Giving Money
Everyone wants to make a difference in our world. You can help make a difference even if it’s not by donating.
Here are 7 ways to support a nonprofit without donating money.
1. Donate your time
Many nonprofits need volunteers to help with various projects. Volunteering is a great way to give back and is just as valuable as a cash contribution.
2. Donate your skills
If you have a special skill such as writing, photography, design, consider offering your skills pro bono. Many nonprofits could use your skills since they can’t afford to hire someone with your skills full-time.
3.Engage with a nonprofits social media
Keeping update-to-date with nonprofits isn’t hard when you like their social media profiles. Help nonprofits with awareness by engaging with their social media posts.
4. Organize an event
If you have time and passion, but not the money, host an event where all proceeds go toward the nonprofit of your choice. Nonprofits usually host an annual event, but hosting many events gets a little tricky for them. Help them out and host your own event.
5. Donate your tax refund
For how long it takes to get your tax return, it can feel like you found money. If you receive a tax refund consider donating it. Your donation might qualify as a tax deduction next year!
6. Donate your credit card rewards
Credit card rewards sometimes let you donate your rewards directly to charity. If it’s not an option offered by your card provider, consider redeeming your rewards as cash to donate.
7. Donate with Amazon Smile
AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice.
Your support is always noticed and always appreciated. Thank you for supporting Zambian Mission Project.

Wire Fence Around Land
Near the end of 2018 Christ Heart Transforming Ministries finished putting up a wire fence around the land near Lusaka West. The fence is preparation for our next projects of growing crops and building orphan houses.

Water 4 Zambia
After purchasing land in West Lusaka in 2017, Christ Heart Transforming Ministries International, our sister organization in Zambia, began planning the needs for the land.
The general plans for the land are to build an orphanage and eventually a school on the land. To start growth toward these goals, Christ Heart Transforming International felt the first and biggest need was water on the land. Water is used for consumption as well as growing crops for the future orphans to eat.
The need for water was communicated to Zambian Mission Project in September – October 2017. We decided that our goal was to have the funds raised by the end of 2017. It was quickly decided that Water bottles with labels saying, ‘Water 4 Zambia’ would be sold for $20 a piece before each worship service at the Minden Evangelical Free Church. We continued selling water bottles through the end of the year. Thanks to our donors, we were able to reach our goal of raising the funds before the end of the year.
In May of 2018, a well was dug on the land and a water tank and pump machine were installed. We cannot thank you donors enough for making this happen.

Land for Orphanage
Zambian Mission Project’s main goal is to raise funds for helping those who need help in Zambia. Obviously to build an orphanage we need land to build on. Step one was to purchase land for the orphanage.
Christ Heart Transforming Ministries International, our sister organization in Zambia, had been looking into 2 different pieces of land. A few different aspects were looked at when choosing which land plot to buy. Where is this plot located? What is the size of the land?
With the help of our donors, in September 2017, 15 acres of land that is located in Lusaka West was purchased. There is a small house on the land, that was purchased with the land. Thank you to our donors for making this possible.
